Northern Illinois Breastfeeding Task Force (NIBFTF) serves 9 surrounding counties:

Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, Winnebago

The primary goal is to promote activities to support breastfeeding parents & babies. We provide education to professionals & the public about new & existing trends & research in breastfeeding.

We network by fostering communication between NIBFTF, professionals & the general public to advocate for breastfeeding in our community

We have educational component at most of our general meetings. We hold conferences featuring such noted breastfeeding expert advocates such as Dr. Nils Bergmann, Dr. Katrina Mitchell & Dr. Thomas Hale. Our next conference is here.

We recognize those healthcare professionals in our area that promote, protect, and support breastfeeding by awarding one of them every other year with a recognition evening that includes 1 free hour of breastfeeding education for those specific providers.

We advocate for breastfeeding families. We have provided resource books such as Medications And Mother’s Milk to local doctors and healthcare professionals offices.
